Friends for Heroes Outing is Monday, August 12th

 What Is "Friends for Heroes"

Friends for Heroes was started by a group of six friends in 2015 to honor and give back to those veterans and their families that have given so much in service to our country.   It is our small way to humbly say “thank you”, and to remind as many of our veterans as we are able that they will not be forgotten……not ever.

Who Did We Support In 2018!

Travis Manion - $5,000

Empowering Veterans and Strengthening Character

This past October, Travis Manion Foundation hosted our first Leadership Expedition for veterans in Boulder, CO. In partnership with Crooked Butterfly Ranch, TMF lead 11 veterans out into the back country for a week-long leadership experience designed to enhance the well-being of attendees through connection with nature, physical challenges, camaraderie with fellow veterans, and service to the greater Denver community. When they weren't hiking, camping, and having fire-side chats, veterans were partnering with Steve's Club to lead TMF's Character Does Matter program for local youth.

Below, you can watch the full footage from this Leadership Expedition and hear from 3 veterans who attended the expedition and how it's making a difference in their transition to civilian life.

Homes for our troops - $7,000

Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post – 9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.

Duskin Stephens Foundation - $5,000

To Support the United States Special Operations Community through direct support to families of fallen Operators, healing programs designed to combat the effects of PTS, TBI and loss of a loved one, and youth scholarships for children of active duty members of our community.

Vision Statement

To provide Active Duty members of the Special Operations Community and their families the opportunity to honor our fallen and advance their careers and family life despite prolonged deployments and family separation. - $5,000

Since 1941, the United Service Organizations has stood by our troops through every step of their service. From deployment to rehabilitation and reintegration, we're there for soldiers and their families. Because we are not a government agency, we rely on generous support from donors like you to fund programs and services that best fit the needs of our troops.

Honor their sacrifice by making a donation today.

PA Wounded Warrior Project - $5,000

Pennsylvania’s veterans have served their nation in every conflict. Many of these men and women are recovering physically, mentally or emotionally at a military hospital, Veteran’s Administration medical facility or with their families at home – and are in need of financial support. Through generous donations we are able to assist our Pennsylvania veterans.

PAWW is an independent statewide non-profit 501©(3) organization providing support to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Veterans in Crisis, and their families. We are not affiliated with nor a part of any national organization, including Wounded Warrior Project, and we do not receive any funds from them. We provide emergency financial assistance to veterans to help pay for housing, utilities, transportation, medical and other expenses. We pay directly to landlords, vendors and creditors.

We would like to thank our corporate sponsors...

If you were at our event in October, you heard from our friend, Army CPL Kevin McCloskey, who participated in our outing and spoke about his injuries from 2008 in Logar Province, Afghanistan.   In fact, this past Saturday, June 8th was Kevin’s “Alive Day.”  It was a very moving story.  He also told us of the specially designed home that was being donated to him and his Wife in Southampton from Homes for our Troops.  You can read more about Kevin’s story here:  We made a commitment that day to Kevin to dedicating our efforts to ensure he was able to move into his home as soon as possible.  I am proud to tell you, that with the assistance of Friends for Heroes over the last year, that Kevin and his Wife, Bridget took the keys to their new home on January 12th of this year.   What a great day that was to see an entire community welcome Kevin and Bridget home.  I encourage you to click on the following links:
